This week on Diff’rent Strokes…
ONLINE:
Dave joins the choir and starts singing the praises of Stan Wars - a wickedly hilarious website dedicated to stans of female pop stars and the ongoing, vicious conflicts between fan groups. Brace yourself for an abundance of shade, Photoshop magic, and hours of mindless online arguing. This is a proper and lively internet phenomenon that cannot be ignored, my friend.
School yourself on stan wars in this brilliant Stan Wars 101 page.
MUSIC:
Jade reviews American rock duo Black Keys‘ new album El Camino and points out her picks of the pack. Black Keys enjoyed tremendous success last year with their album Brothers, which debuted at #3 on the US Billboard 200 to become their highest charting position yet.

CULTURE:
Dave talks about ‘showrooming’ – a growing consumer trend that’s starting to worry book retailers. In an increasingly digital age where the value of a print publications is rapidly diminishing, we’ve all probably been guilty of treating the bookstore as a bit of a show room. As in, browse in store, type into our smartphones the titles we’re interested in then leave, planning to purchase the book online later – possibly at a more discounted rate.
What is the future for book retailers? Do you still buy books and if so, would you go retail or hunt for a bargain online?
