Dave and Jade check out the new blockbuster sci-fi series Terra Nova for a visual treat while trying to make sense of the outlandish plot. It’s basically set in 2149 when Earth becomes uninhabitable and a family travels 85 million years back in time to set up life in an alternate parallel reality. There are dinosaurs involved. Steven Spielberg serves as executive producer of this big-budgeted series that costs approximately $4 million to film each episode.

Dave reviews Girls Aloud siren Nicola Roberts‘ debut solo album Cinderella’s Eyes and explains why it’s one of his favourite albums of the year. Quirky, honest yet still marvelously pop – the project features the creative geniuses of Diplo (producer for M.I.A. and Robyn), Canadian electro pop duo Dragonette and hit writer Dmitri Tikovoi (who has worked on Sophie Ellis-Bextor‘s Trip The Light Fantastic).

Dave talks about The Hamster Wheel – a new TV show headed up by the notorious Chaser boys which is set to premiere next Wednesday night on ABC1. This series will once again serve up the gang’s signature satirical style as they poke at journalism integrity and explore how the media really works (or doesn’t). The Hamster Wheel will star Andrew Hansen, Chas Licciardello, Chris Taylor, Craig Reucassel, Julian Morrow and writer Dominic Knight.

Jade reviews The Drums‘ exciting new album Portamento. The American indie pop band is a favourite on the Diff’rent Strokes playlist with their 2010 debut LP but will their sophomore live up to expectations? Side bar: what a terrifying album cover art.
