This week on Diff’rent Strokes…
ONLINE:

Jade and Dave chat with America’s sweetheart and “accidental media mogul” Jesse Thorn. The man is known for his many ventures, see roll call: public radio show The Sound of Young America, comedy podcast Jordan, Jesse, Go! and fashion web-series Put This On. Tonight, we’ll hear Jesse threaten to take down Dannii Minogue, talk about his life as an accidental media mogul, and why he decided to do a show about men’s fashion.
The full Jesse Thorn interview will also be uploaded as a separate podcast after the show. Check our podcast page for more deets.
Check out an episode of Jesse’s Put This On, a web-series schooling men on how to dress like a grown up:

TV:

Dave talks about The Hamster Wheel – a new TV show headed up by the notorious Chaser boys which is set to premiere next Wednesday night on ABC1. This series will once again serve up the gang’s signature satirical style as they poke at journalism integrity and explore how the media really works (or doesn’t). The Hamster Wheel will star Andrew Hansen, Chas Licciardello, Chris Taylor, Craig Reucassel, Julian Morrow and writer Dominic Knight.
MUSIC:

Jade reviews The Drums‘ exciting new album Portamento. The American indie pop band is a favourite on the Diff’rent Strokes playlist with their 2010 debut LP but will their sophomore live up to expectations? Side bar: what a terrifying album cover art.
Watch the music video for the project’s first single ‘Money’:

Also, here’s a little something extra – like a bonus track tacked on at the end of an album.
SameSame’s Bottom 50 Worst Pop Songs Ever – we’ll exclusively reveal the Top 10, as voted by SameSame readers, on air 7:45pm tonight! Check out the countdown so far: #50 – #31 and #30 – #11. Heads will roll.
